Ciao readers of Leyal,

Leyal was looking for bloggers who wanted to write a travel article about honeymoon

destinations. Since I write mostly about exclusive destinations / restaurants and activities

for touristexclusive.com I will tell you why Northern Italy is a great honeymoon destination.

Italy the land of fashion, great food, lovely people and romance. Is there a better place for

your honeymoon in Europe?

Just you and your loved one in a car on your way to paradise.

Just imagine all the beautiful cities you could do like Milano for shopping, Verona for

Romeo & Juliet and to top it of Venice.

We (my boyfriend and I) started our road trip in the capital of fashion, Milan. Besides all

the major fashion brands Milan also has some superb restaurants including Restaurant

Alice in department store Eataly. You can't really describe Eataly as a department store.

It is more an experience on itself than a store. There are three floors with all local delicacies

beautifully displayed. After all that shopping this is the place to have your lunch believe

me!

We stayed 2 nights in Milan to recover from the long trip (10 hours from Belgium).

Then we drove towards Lake Iseo on the advice of the tourism office of Lombardy.

Hidden treasure of Italy – Lake Iseo

Because of Lake Iseo I lost a piece of my heart to Italy! What a beautiful lake and what a

blessed mentality. There are far fewer tourists than, say, Lake Como and Lake Garda. But

this way it is just more fun because everything is run by families. In late June they will also

launch the project where a famous artist is going to make a floating

connection between the two islands and the mainland. The whole area is therefor already

in action. Have you planned a trip in June / July in northern Italy then I would definitely add

Lake Iseo as a stop.

After a blissful night in hotel Rivalago we are heading of to Venice. The city is built on

wooden stilts. Bit scary when you think about it. Venice could not immediately charm us

and so we immediately drove off to Verona, the city of love. Still Venice is a city that you

must see especially when you are on your honeymoon.

The nicest thing about not having a fixed schedule on a road trip is that you can determine

where you are going and how long you are staying.

City of Rome  &Juliet

Luckily it was love at first sight with Verona. The romance that day certainly increased by

10% between my boyfriend and me. Walking around in the small, cozy streets while eating

strawberries with chocolate sauce. Can it be better? We were looking for a Bed &

Breakfast in order to also meet some local people. B&B Relais Bacio Di Luna in Verona is

by far the nicest place we've slept this roadtrip. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the

city of Verona is something I'm never going to forget. Romance level : 100 !

To all fairy tales comes an end, fortunately ours is not as tragic as that of Romeo and

Juliet. The end of our beautiful road trip through northern Italy was coming. We only just

stopped for a few hours at lake Como to have lunch before we drove of.

Of course, we have wonderful memories and pictures to be framed. If you want to read

more about the visited cities and different accommodations you can always take a look at

our website (touristexclusive.com) where we like to inspire you with amazing hotels,

hotspots and destinations.

Have you also ever made such a spontaneous road trip?

Love,

St├ęphanie
